It infuses via intravenous, intra-arterial, epidural, or subcutaneous administration. The AS50 uses standard disposable syringes from 1mL to 60mL in size. The AS50 can infuse IV solutions, drug solutions, and whole or packed red blood cells. The pump can be piggybacked into an ongoing infusion line to deliver secondary infusions. This pump includes an optional serial communication feature, which allows the pump to be monitored and provides remote computer control. The syringe sizes used for the BD 360 are 3cc to 10cc, and delivery times range from 10 to 60 minutes. When the time has been set and the syringe is in place, the pump automatically calculates the proper speed and occlusion pressure. This unit is battery powered, and requires 4 C-size alkaline batteries.
